This is our favorite restaurant in Playa! Try the shrimp avacado pizza, you won't be dissapointing with it. The brick stone oven makes the best thin crust and they have a delicious home made spicy chipotle sauce on it that is mouthwatering.
Our server was very friendly and attentive and brought us an amazing complimentary bread with olive oil & oregano sauce and chili sauce before our food arrived. The empanadas are delicious, slightly on the smaller side but well priced for the quality you get. Lastly, the 'de local' lemonade was a frozen blended and mint lemonade and was so similar tasting to a cocktail and refreshing you would think it had alcohol in it!
Only regret is I wish I could try everything on the menu! Bravo!

We found this place last year when we were in Playa Del Carmen as it was very close to our condo. We ate there a ton last year and loved it. Going back again this year we had to go back to De Local. It is a lot further away from our condo this year, but worth the walk down 5th. The portions are very large and the food is made fresh. The bread they give you first is tasty and freshly baked there. We have tried many of the items on the menu and they were all fantastic! The "simple chicken" is a HUGE portion and could be shared by a couple of people for sure. Most of the staff understand some English, but are not fluent. We do not really speak Spanish but we manage to order and get what we want :) Worth the walk to the quieter end of 5th Avenue!
